Social Cloud Computing ----- a Group Stimulant

From the article, we could easily figure out the landscape of Social Cloud Computing. Evolved from the simple idea of establishing a resource and service sharing utilizing relationships established between members of a social network, Social Cloud Computing has revealed its power in many different forms, including Social Computation Cloud, Social Storage Cloud, Social Collaborative Cloud, and Social Cloud for Public Science and even Enterprise.

And also in the two activities assigned, we could also notice the significant impacts brought by Social Cloud technology, which enormously affects the behavior patterns among both individual and collaborative works.

In activity one, each answer was settled or even more exactly called briefly highlighted simply according to the questions designed, without any personal viewpoint and critical thinking being involved or being intended to be involved. However, in comparison, when the task moved on to the activity two and was transformed into a collaborated way, the pattern of cognitive process was completely recomposed into a different way. The active interactions as well as arguments between each members resulted in a positive motivation and stimulus to "step further" in our original ideas and thinkings. A striking inspiration from others, a comprehensive comparison between your our idea and other people's thinking, a drastic debate between you and your partner, and a tough defense of your own perspective, all these processes provide us a better chance to look into the question in a more insightful viewpoint, which finally contribute to a thorough understanding and more reasonable answer reflecting group intelligence rather than that from any individuals.

Social Cloud Computing is definitely not just a way to facilitate our group work, but a effective stimulant to improve such collaboration.

  1. Oh what a frightening syringe...
I can sense a heated debate within your group cuz you are using serious wording like "drastic", "tough" and "striking"... =.=
Our group was much milder simply because the task was a bit too easy to raise objection... (honestly)
I do feel differences when going through different blogs, in individual working pattern as well as group collaboration pattern. It's interesting that your group was so active during the discussion. I believe that's what our group should learn. LOL

  2. Actually, the point showed in your blog appears to be quite similar with mine. I totally agree with "In activity one, each answer was settled or even more exactly called briefly highlighted simply according to the questions designed, without any personal viewpoint and critical thinking being involved or being intended to be involved". Collaboration only happens when the problem is quite open and people tend to combine their own subjective opinions. Conflicts promotes improvements. Also, cloud service definitely should not be restricted to achieving collaborative work.

  4. So you have given me a new point of comparing individual work with group work. In individual work, no others, no disturb, no arguments, and no space of realizing beyond my own knowledge. And, group work brings new ideas, new ways of thinking, along with disturb. I'd like to discribe it as disturb for that disturb gives us a space of thinking more, about whether the answer I hold before is true or true enough, or whether I should have a new look at the questions. That disturb brings new space and a chance to think back.
Of course sometimes such disturb can bring arguments ...

  5. You said that the processes of interactions contribute to a thorough understanding and more reasonable answer reflecting group intelligence rather than that from any individuals. I can understand but still wonder how! Maybe you want to defend your point and urge you to think more. So can I consider actually the debate causes more inspiration? Hope for your reply!

  6. I can't agree with your point that social cloud computing is a effective stimulant to improve such collaboration. Cloud computing has a great impact on social networks. Cloud computing is better. With cloud computing, you eliminate those headaches because you’re not managing hardware and software—that’s the responsibility of an experienced vendor like salesforce.com. The shared infrastructure means it works like a utility: You only pay for what you need, upgrades are automatic, and scaling up or down is easy. I'm looking forward to a interchanging with you~~

  7. After reading your blog, the needle is quite impressive, as it shows there are more and more cloud service and applications jump out based on the social cloud computing technology. As while the huge driven force is the mobile terminal market. Like Google's cloud collaboration tools, big companies wants to lead up entering this field and many collaboration tools are pushed out as follows.
